At the heart of The Euphorics lies a story deeply rooted in Moroccan heritage, tradition, and cultural pride. Founded by Abdelaziz Gbouri (Mogan), The Euphorics isn’t just a musical group—it’s a celebration of Morocco’s vibrant musical legacy.
A Tribute to Moroccan Chaabi and Folklore
The Euphorics draws its essence from the timeless sounds of Moroccan Chaabi, folklore melodies, and traditional rhythms passed down through generations. Every performance becomes a bridge between the past and the present, where ancestral voices echo through every note played and every lyric sung.

Fusion Challenges: The Math of Art
One of the greatest challenges we face in blending Moroccan Chaabi with modern harmonies lies in the use of Arabic scales, namely Maqam Bayati and Maqam Saba. These scales often include quarter tones, which don’t exist in Western tuning systems.
The technical 'math' behind the art.
To resolve this, we often rely on Esus4 and Esus2 chords, which remove the problematic third note. By using suspended chords, we maintain the harmonic space without clashing with the quarter tone, allowing the melody to flow naturally over the harmony.
Milestones & Collaborations
Throughout its journey, JouqEuphorics has graced prestigious stages and collaborated with notable artists, including the esteemed Maestro Ahmed El Yaacoubi, Ghita Oujdia, Cadi Ayyad University and did multiple shows across the country, won 3 national prizes and its still going!.
Beyond these significant collaborations, The Euphorics plays a central role in student integration events and major campus celebrations, fostering community through the universal language of music.
Looking Ahead: Tradition Meets Tomorrow
As The Euphorics continues to grow, its goal remains clear: to be a custodian of Moroccan music while finding creative ways to keep these traditions alive for future generations.
