The Dual Identity: Student and Artist
Being a student and an artist is not easy but it’s totally worth it. As a student I spend most of my time diving into academics and figuring out my professional path. But as an artist I’m always experimenting with music especially Moroccan Chaabi and rock fusion.
Chaabi music is part of our culture and adding a rock twist to it has been a creative challenge. At first it felt risky – like I was stepping out of the box too much. But the more I experimented the more I realized this is where my creativity comes alive. Of course it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. Balancing my studies and my music has tested my time management skills like never before. But each challenge has taught me something new – how to prioritize, stay focused and most importantly how to keep doing what I love.
"Chaabi is our culture; adding rock is my revolution."
How Extracurricular Activities Shaped My Leadership
Club and extracurricular activities played a crucial role in my development. I joined various clubs and worked with many club members on different projects. These activities are not merely sources of enjoyment; they teach individuals important lessons in leadership, creativity development, and responsibility assumption.
For instance, event planning or project management has often required me to venture beyond my familiar boundaries. One learns to cooperate with others, meet deadlines, and sometimes even resolve unexpected issues spontaneously. Such skills are applicable not only in educational settings but also in practical scenarios that shape me for the real world. Extracurriculars are never "extra." They provide an excellent platform where you can explore different dimensions of your personality, experience failure and growth, and see your passions getting realized in action.
Reflections on the SNRT Experience
Being in the SNRT studio with all those microphones and the buzzing around an active crew was surreal. A conversation with Mr. Hassan and Miss Ghita Ait Lahcen is naturally inspiring. The two asked very perceptive questions, and it was obvious they were concerned with the subjects we were discussing.
Speaking about my experience on such a large platform brought home to me how much potential there is in combining art with technology and leadership. What I shared resonated quite deeply with the audience, which was the highlight of this experience. It didn't matter if it was disrupting classical music norms or harnessing AI to create something fresh; knowing these concepts strike a chord with people is rewarding.
Acknowledgments and Gratitude
I want to give a massive thank you to everyone who made this experience possible. Mr. Hassan and Miss Ghita Ait Lahcen were so welcoming and encouraging, and I’m so grateful for the chance to share my story on SNRT. Big shoutout to my clubmates who have always had my back and supported every crazy idea I’ve had. And, of course, thank you to everyone who believes in combining passion with technical skills—it’s people like you who inspire me to keep going.
